Charity Pageant - Camberwell (1914-1918)

Charity Pageant - Camberwell, London. Girls walking around corner of a brick building (bleak looking day; bare trees) dressed in all manner of strange costumes - they are on their way to a theatre for a Charity Pageant; and they seem to be portraying people through the ages. Leading are some 17th - 18th century ladies; then a girl carrying a pole with a picture of some woman on it. A girl in a long white belted gown and a headband; some sort of Grecian vestal virgin? There are a few girls dressed as men; including one in Robin Hood outfit; carrying an arrow and a flute or recorder. Along with her walk several shepherdesses with ruffled caps carrying flowering branches. Behind them there is someone with some fish on a string. A Knight or crusader or two; a girl with a sort of Viking head dress. Some in Church costumes; and a goddess of some sort in robes draped round her; a crown; and a big golden pendant.
