Every piece he creates feels like a celebration… like a firework that has turned into a spiral of shapes and sounds. His Haute Couture show was another one of those celebrations. He took us to church! Literally. The new collection was elegant. Chic. Bold. Whimsical and commanding. Those are his consistencies. One thing that particularly stood out to me was the spiritual elements within this collection (my favorite being the chakra dress, and the kundalini snake rings). Many of you know that one of my best friends is Hema @ boseh1 who has helped bring the talented Gaurav into the pop zeitgeist. She and I can spend hours talking about fashion, impact, energy focus and what it means to be a brown girl hustling. We also always have at least one pair of earrings that we are holding hostage from the other… a currency to ensure we find each other in the world again. I am so deeply proud of you Hema and the team for what you continue to accomplish. From a little town in Calcutta to running PFW my love. @ ggpanther You are limitless, just like your clothes.
