THE 2022 NED DEMOCRACY AWARD

The National Endowment for Democracy recognizes the extraordinary courage and resilience of Ukrainian civil society with its 2022 Democracy Award. NED honors four partner organizations - the Anti-Corruption Action Center, the Center for Civil Liberties, the Public Interest Journalism Lab, and the Ukrainian Volunteer Service - that are part of a powerful citizen movement to defend Ukraine, as these groups continue their critical work advancing and protecting human rights, demanding accountability, strengthening independent media, and mobilizing support for their country during a harrowing time of war. The National Endowment for Democracy is a private, nonprofit foundation dedicated to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world. Each year, NED makes more than 2,000 grants to support the projects of non-governmental groups abroad who are working for democratic goals in more than 100 countries.
