Burned Pizza Restoration

Pizza Pepperoni restoration of a very burned and totally black Italian style pizza. See me repair this burned food using my angel grinder, drill and grinding paper to finally make the food eatable again. About the burned Pizza We just got a new Pizza oven a Ooni Koda 16” which is a gas-powered outdoor pizza oven designed for stone-baking epic 16-inch pizzas at a very high temperature it heats up to 500 °C (950 °F) The idea is that the stone-baked fresh pizza is ready in just 60 seconds (If you do not forget your pizza in the oven). My son (who is a teenager) was about to make himself a delicious Italian style pizza. Unfortunately, he got distracted by his friends on Discord and went away for 5-7 minutes. This was just too much, and the food got burned. Son said: Daddy my Pizza is like charcoal now. ☹ Me: You must scrape off the coal to eat it. Son said: No that’s impossible Me: Everything can get restored even a burned pizza. Son: NOOO not this one Me: Hold my bottle of Italian wine The pizza I use in this restoration is a new one which I intentionally burned just to prove that its possible to restore a pizza which is very over cooked and burned down to the ground. Abou the Restoration I started by peeling off all the burned pepperoni pieces (totally 7 pieces). I tried to serve the black charcoal pepperoni to my dog but he totally rejected it. I used my angel grinder to grind off all the rust (sorry) all the cheese, tomato sauce and bread which was burned. That went surprisingly well and was easier than expected. Finally, I cleaned all the many cracks with my Dremel hand drill machine and blowed it as clean as possible with compressed air. I did manage to rip off a piece of the pizza when I hand grinded the last details, so I ended up making a pizza dough glue to glue all the cracks and the two bread pieces together. I gave the overcooked dough base some moisturizer (a lot of water) to soften the pizza base as much as possible before baking. I created an easy to do pizza sauce with the following ingredients: Tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, garlic and sugar. I mixed it together and added it to the base. I also added a lot of olive oil to the base edge hopefully to make it delicious again. Then I added 7 pieces of pepperoni and 5 pieces of jalapeños and a huge amount of freshly grated cheese. I baked the newly repaired pepperoni pizza for around 1,5 minutes and it came out much better than I expected. The base was very crusty. You can hear that when I cut it with my custom-made Awesome Pizza Slicer in the video. The taste was surprisingly a 6 out of 10. Tasted a little bit burned. But the food was absolutely eatable. So, if you ever wonder. YES, it is absolutely durable to restore a very burned pizza. I celebrated this restoration by getting a nice glass of Italian Pizza vine from the vine cellar.
