‘Less chance of bedbugs’ Putin mocks western sanctions, urges vigilance against potential sabotage

Putin mocked West sanctions as he cited the proposal of some Western politicians on banning the import of screwdrivers, needles and other items into Russia. During a Cabinet meeting on economic issues, Putin also noted that the GDP for nine months increased by 2.8 percent compared to the same period last year, while wages in Russia grew by 7.5 percent in real terms, and unemployment rate remained low at 3 percent. However, the President urged officials to brace for more Western sanctions as EU’s twelfth package of sanctions against Russia is to be announced next week. He instructed the government and the Bank of Russia to reduce inflation, which is one of the main risks for the economy. He also urged them to support business investment in production, technology and human development to secure Russia’s long-term growth and economic sovereignty. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
