Cutting-edge Infantry fighting vehicles

The $18.1 - 27.1 billion LAND 400 Phase 3 Program will provide the Army with an advanced, cutting-edge Infantry fighting vehicle capability. Prototype test and evaluation infantry fighting vehicles have been delivered to Defence by the project’s two shortlisted tenderers – Hanwha Defense Australia delivering three prototype Redback vehicles and Rheinmetall Defence Australia providing three prototype Lynx vehicles. On Friday 12 March, Retired Army Major General and now NSW Senator - Jim Molan and Head Armoured Vehicle Division, Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group - Major-General David Coghlan revealed the two shortlisted tenderers. A prototype of each Infantry fighting vehicle was also on display to accompany the announcement which took place in Blamey Square, at the front of the Defence Russell Offices, Canberra.
