“I’m a Good Ol’ Rebel“ was a poem written in 1864 by James Innes Randolph, eventually being put to music in 1914 (although some claim the music goes back to 1866). The song is about a Confederate soldier upset about the Confederacy’s loss in the U.S. Civil War, wishing the Union had lost.
