Full title reads: “BIRMINGHAM HOSPITAL’S CENTRE - Prince of Wales lays foundation stone and cuts first sod for new Medical School.“ Birmingham, West Midlands. Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor) walking with Mayor of Birmingham to lay a foundation stone to Birmingham’s new Hospital Centre. Lines of people cheer and applaud as they pass. A large stone being placed into position for Prince Edward to lay it. Prince Edward smouldering cement before the stone is lowered. Prince Edward taps the stone at corners and declares it well and truly laid. Prince Edward walking with Major to cut the first sod on the place on which will stand a new Medical school.
