Short sequence of German Nazi soldiers walking over snowy mountains as commentator talks of German troops massing along the frontier. Crowds of Austrian Nazis crowd a busy street, making the Nazi salute, celebrating the victory of taking part in the government for the first time. Brief shots of Benito Mussolini (Il Duce) on skiing down a snowy slope as commentator says von Schuschnigg appealed to Mussolini for support in a policy of resistance to Germany, “but Mussolini was much too busy to listen“.
