Use SALT to Paint a Watercolour Semi-abstract Desolate Marshland Landscape, Watercolor Tutorial!
Today’s demo is for a semi-abstract frosty, misty marshland landscape, using wet in wet technique, and salt to create these lovely frosty flower patterns across the foreground, unpredictable and very exciting. Why not give it a try, and use any colours you like, I just used 1 colour, Cotman paynes grey that sometimes splits into a lovely rnge of tones and hued from blackish grey through to blue.
I used ordinary fine table salt, various brushes that I found online, but use any brushes you are comfortable with. My board is at an angle of about 45 degrees tilt.
My paper is 100% cotton Saunders Waterford, cold pressed, 11“ x 15“/28cm x 38cm. Thanks for watching, and happy painting!
