Only Isaac, whom Sarah bore, could become Abraham’s heir in his family. Eliezer, whose parents were both slaves, could not become Abraham’s heir. Ishmael, whose mother was a slave, could not become Abraham’s heir, either. Only Isaac, whom Sarah the free woman bore according to God’s word, could become Abraham’s heir in his family. Sarah represents the Jerusalem that is above, our Heavenly Mother. God made Isaac Abraham’s heir to inherit his estate. This history of Abraham’s family in the Old Testament shows what kind of people can become God’s heirs. As children of promise like Isaac, the Church of God members believe in Father Ahnsahnghong and Mother whom the Bible testifies to.
