Landing ship and vehicles of the Royal Marines return from NATO Exercise Steadfast Defender ⚓️ 🪖

A landing ship with the Royal Navy returns Armoured / Amphibious All Terrain Vehicles to the UK after Exercise Steadfast Defender. The ATVs are operated by the Royal Marines while the ship is operated by the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. Private hauliers; MetCalfe Farms, Hellard and Young European transported the tracked vehicles. RFA Mounts Bay (L3008) is a Bay-class Landing Ship Dock (LSD) of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, the auxiliary fleet of ships supporting the Royal Navy and Royal Marines in their operations. More specifically, the Bay-class are used to land marines and transport vehicles such as those featured. The Viking is an Amphibious Armoured All Terrain Vehicle capable of deploying from ships, through water and onto land with a crew of marines. It is manufactured as the Bandvagn Skyddad 10 (BvS10) by BAE Systems Hägglunds. Also seen is the Bandvagn 206 (Bv 206) All Terrain Vehicle, also made by the same company, previously Hägglund & Söner in Sweden. Also seen are MAN Logistic Support Vehicles and Land Rover Utility vehicles with the Royal Marines. The video may also feature British Army vehicles on the same exercise. Exercise Steadfast Defender is the largest NATO exercise to be held since the Cold War. Over 90,000 troops are participating with over 1,200 combat vehicles, over 80 aircraft and over 50 naval assets from all 32 allies, including Sweden.
