Israel’s efforts to dismantle UNRWA: Knesset debating bills that could ban the agency

Israeli politicians are debating bills, that could ban the UN agency for Palestinian refugees from operating within Israel. It would also significantly restrict UNRWA’s activities across Occupied East Jerusalem and the Occupied West Bank. 7 countries - including the UK, France, Canada and Germany - have issued a joint statement expressing their ’grave concern’ over Israel’s plans. Israel has repeatedly targeted UNRWA during its war on Gaza, to dismantle the agency. Al Jazeera’s Mohammed Jamjoom reports. Chris Gunness is a former spokesman for UNRWA.
