Monodia Polska - pieśni wielkopostne / Lent songs - Polskie Radio

Adam Strug Jakub Korona Jakub Kukla Krzysztof Piszczyk Jan Woźniak Hipolit Woźniak Tymoteusz Woźniak Jacek Zembrowski Mateusz Kowalski Wojciech Lubertowicz The passion concert of Monodia Polska consisted of songs collected by Adam Strug in the villages of the petty nobility and Kurpie in the Łomża region. There was mainly a cappella singing, as well as singing accompanied by a hurdy-gurdy. The melodic variants of the songs sung by Monodia do not coincide with those commonly known from church songbooks. They were passed down in a traditional way - orally, from generation to generation. In addition to the codified ones, we also heard songs that occurred only on the north-eastern borders of historical Mazovia. Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and 19th-century songs have survived in these parts thanks to the collective memory and love of this music by the local nobility and the Kurpie Zielone people living across the river.
