Focaccia with Tomatoes and Basil: The Italian Bread That’s About to Steal Your Heart
This easy and delicious focaccia recipe is perfect for a summer picnic or a casual get-together. The soft, doughy bread is topped with juicy tomatoes and fresh basil, and it’s baked until golden brown and crispy.
Ingredients:
1 cup warm water (105-115 degrees F)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry yeast
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
fresh basil
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the warm water, salt, and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes, until the yeast is foamy.
Stir in the flour until a dough forms.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Punch down the dough inch baking dish that has been greased.
Drizzle the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with the tomatoes and basil.
Bake for 30 minute
