Hojoundo are the warmup exercises developed by the Uechi Ryu karate system. The series of techniques consist of defense and counter attacks, taken from Kata. Led by Sensei Seiki Itokazu, this is the earliest film of Houjoundo ever produced. Filmed in 1960 in the first Futenma Dojo of Uechi Ryu Karate Grand Master Kanei Uechi, the contestants are warming up for the first Uechi Ryu Karate Tournament held in the First Soke Dojo.
