Bio By She Rox all Female Bands: Candy 500, who hail from Portland,Oregon began in the early 1990’s by whiskey voiced vocalist Ursula Wehr formerly of Sugar Babydoll with Courtney Love, which for some made the bands comparable, however Candy 500 was far more advanced then early Hole recordings, mixing a blend of rock and punk with their style of grunge music. Candy 500 released one Ep in 1994 on the infamous label, Sympathy For The Record Industry, titled “The Loretta Hogg Story, this label ,once home to bands like the Lunachicks and The Red Aunts. Candy 500 toured with Hole in support of the Ep, which gained the band an ever larger following in their local music scene. Candy 500 would go on to release several singles although the original line up would change and leave vocalist Wehr and drummer Jennifer Stefanick the only original members by 1997 before calling it quits.
