A B.C Supreme Court judge has upheld changes to the provincial Police Act that will force the City of Surrey to transition policing from the RCMP to a municipal force. But Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke’s not admitting defeat. She says she’s still in the fight to deliver on her 2022 campaign promise to keep taxes low over policing. And as Chad Pawson reports, there’s now questions about what she does next in her efforts to keep the RCMP.
